Instagram Buddha Birth Day Festival for a chance to win!

Let's celebrate what is great about the Buddha Birth Day Festival by capturing and sharing those images that convey what’s special to you about the event.

How to enter

  1. Follow @bbdf.qld on Instagram

  2. Take and edit your photo

  3. Upload the photo to Instagram and hashtag photo with #SnapBuddha (privacy settings must

    be set to ‘public’ for us to retrieve your photo) AND tag @bbdf.qld.

  4. Submit a maximum of five (5) images.

  5. By submitting a photo using #SnapBuddha you are also accepting our terms and conditions

    for this competition.

When?

1. The competition opens 12 midday on Saturday 22nd April 2017 and will close 12 midnight Sunday 30th April 2017.

Winners

  1. The top five photographs with the most ‘likes’ on the Instagram with #SnapBuddha will receive a prize worth $50. In the event the prize is unavailable or cancelled for any reason whatsoever, the organisers reserve the right to substitute alternative prizes of similar value.

  2. Winners will be announced via @bbdf.qld Instagram Page, Facebook and website on Monday 15th May 2017.

  3. By uploading photographs, you are deemed to have accepted the terms and conditions of this competition. Winners may be asked to provide a copy of the picture via email in a higher resolution format (where possible).

Guidelines

  1. Entry to the competition is free and the competition is open to all visitors to the Buddha Birthday Festival, South Bank who are over 13 years old.

  2. Entrants may submit up to five (5) photographs via the #SnapBuddha competition hashtag and tag us @bbdf.qld.

  3. Only entries which are submitted via Instagram, and which are appropriately hash‐tagged and tagged will be accepted.

  4. Artwork must be original and photographed by the entrant and not infringe any party’s intellectual property rights.

  5. Photographs can be black and white, or colour.

  6. Filters and framing can be used.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. The organisers are Fo Guang Shan Chung Tian Buddhist Temple (IBAQ) and Buddha’s Light International Association Queensland (BLIAQ).

  2. ‘Snap Buddha’ Photography (#SnapBuddha) competition (“the Competition”) will be open from 12 midday on Saturday 22nd April 2017 and will close 12 midnight Sunday 30th April 2017.

  3. To enter the competition, you must be an Instagram account holder. Please note that in order to activate an Instagram account, you need to be (a) 18 or older, or (b) 13 or older and have your parent or guardian’s consent to the Instagram Terms and Conditions of Use.

  4. IBAQ and BLIAQ have no affiliation with Instagram and are therefore not responsible or liable for your use of the Instagram service.

  5. Entrants using images with recognisable people in the photograph must have sought written consent from these individuals to have their images used for the purpose of the competition and subsequently by IBAQ and BLIAQ.

  6. Any photograph that has won a prize previously in any competition is not eligible for entry.

  7. IBAQ and BLIAQ reserved the rights to cancel or vary the Competition at any time. IBAQ and

    BLIAQ will not be responsible for any loss or costs incurred by you in relation to such

    cancellation or variation.

  8. Participants own the copyright of their works. The participant will grant IBAQ and BLIAQ a

    licence to reproduce, publish, communicate or display the work online (including social media), in presentations, videos, publications and, if selected, for public display. Images might also be shown in electronic media or printed on large photographic murals. Participants grant the right of IBAQ and BLIAQ to use the work for the purpose of documentation and promotion of the project. The work will be acknowledged wherever possible. Competition prizes cannot be redeemed as cash.

  9. The entrant warrants that the work submitted is original and does not infringe the copyright, moral rights or other rights of any third party.

  10. Where a subject is a child or young person less than 18 years of age, the entrant must obtain permission from their parent or legal guardian for inclusion in the work. If your work includes a child or young person then consent must have been acquired to use their image.
